Rep. Alex Ybarra argues for fully funding K-12 special education services on the House floor
Rep. Alex Ybarra, R-Quincy, shares his support for fully funding K-12 special education services across the state. Amendment 153 to House Bill 1436 seeks to increase the current 13.5 percent cap to 15 percent and increase the special education multipliers for elementary and secondary students and prekindergarten students, thereby giving every school district a funding increase.
The amendment was defeated on a party-line vote, with the majority party voting “no.”
