Rep. Alex Ybarra addresses initiatives introduced in Olympia, calls for fair treatment on KIT Radio

In a recent interview with KIT Radio, Rep. Alex Ybarra, R-Quincy, shed light on the latest developments at the state capitol, including the introduction of six initiatives. During the discussion, Ybarra clarified the initiative process in Washington state, highlighting its empowering nature for voters to influence or amend laws.

However, Ybarra emphasized that the mere introduction of these initiatives doesn’t guarantee their consideration. The majority party has blocked the initiatives from securing timely public hearings. Ybarra and his colleagues have formally urged for the initiatives to promptly receive fair hearings, as directed by our state Constitution.

Ybarra concluded by inviting constituents to participate in his 13th District Virtual Town Hall, scheduled for Wednesday, February 21st at 6 p.m., where further discussions on these initiatives and other important matters will take place.
